On the capital’s site, where the flags of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan were set, a solemn event was held on the theme “Our flag is our pride”, dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the adoption of the Law on the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 18.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, professors, teachers, students, representatives of the government, law enforcement agencies and the general public.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Zhokarga Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan A. Hamraev, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan M. Azizov, Chairman of the Center for Spirituality and Education of the Republic K. Yusupov, KSU graduate student S. Utebaev and others noted the state symbols of the country, in particular the importance of the flag.

As it has been noted, on November, 18, 1991 at extraordinary session of Oliy Kengash of the Republic of Uzbekistan the law «About the national flag» was adopted. This year the date of an adoption of this law is 28 years.

The flag is a symbol of the given state. As the symbol of the country, the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan highly develops during trips of our delegations abroad, various international actions and sports competitions.
