On February 7, 2020, a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 579th anniversary of the great thinker and great statesman Alisher Navoi was held at the University’s Palace of Culture.

The conference was opened by the acting Vice-rector for youth affairs of Karakalpak State University. I.Jumaniyazov. In his speech, he noted, the masses of the world usually recognize that a certain people is known for its great figures. This is no coincidence! Because the historian, who plays an important role in the development of culture, spirituality and education of the nation, is constantly striving to expand the boundaries of time, space and opportunity. In this sense, the founder of the philosophy of the nation, the reformer of speech culture, the great public and statesman Alisher Navoi, who glorified the greatness of the old Uzbek language and literature, embodies the Uzbek mentality.

Then, the reports were made by the chairman of the Writers’ Union of Karakalpakstan K.Karimov, the Navoi scholar, poet A.Otepbergenov, docent of the Uzbek language and literature H.Abdullayev, and the teacher of the Turkmen language and literature S.Avezklycheva.

Students of the faculty of Uzbek philology presented stage performances from the works of Navoi “Hairat ul-Abror” and “Seven Planets”.

In addition, skillfully performed songs and classical dances gave everyone an excellent mood.
