The 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Karakalpakstan

Every country has its own Constitution and naturally it plays an enormous role in the life of every nation. Today is a significant day in our republic considering that we are celebrating the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It is worth mentioning that the goals of the Constitution are commitment to human rights and the ideas of state sovereignty of the people, responsibility to present and future generations, building a universal democratic constitutional state, peace of citizens and ensuring national harmony.

As we know, the Constitution of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was adopted on April 9, 1993. It has been worked out based on the experience of developed countries and has imbibed fundamental ideas and principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since that time, there were considerable changes in various spheres of life, such as economy, politics, culture and education. It is quite natural that all the successes achieved on this difficult and the same time glorious path are, first of all, connected with our Constitution. After all, the Basic Law enshrined the guarantees of national independence, about which our people had dreamed for many years, of human rights and freedoms, the chosen path of development.

As our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said: ‘For a quarter century, all fundamental reforms in the country are carried out on the basis of the Constitution. This indicates that the Basic Law fully meets the interests of our people and the strategic goals of our state. And we have the right to be proud of it. At the same time, we well understand that we are facing important tasks in order to fully implement the requirements of our Constitution. Not in the future, but already today, our compatriots should see and feel the results of reforms through the example of their lives’. And truly, whatever our achievements are, we must always try to do our best and never stop to make efforts in order to provide a peaceful and happy life of the population. And of course, we are, the young generation of our country, should steadily aspire to achieve our goals and contribute to the development and prosperity of our Motherland, which has given us everything that we now have, every moment filled with happiness.
