The Department of Economics operates on the basis of the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as orders from the Rector and the Scientific Council of the University to further improvement of the activities of higher educational institutions.
Over the past 20 years of its operation, the Department of Economics has achieved significant results. If until 1992 the department functioned under the name Agricultural Economics, in 1992 the department became known as the Department of Microeconomics. During this period associate professor K. Ubaidullaev was appointed head of the department, and in 1996 the department was renamed the department of Economics and Management. Since 1999 the department was headed by Associate Professor J. Erezhepova. Since 2000 the department became known as “Economics and Economic Theory” and Associate Professor O. Nazarbayev became its head.
In 2002 the department was reorganized into the Department of Industrial Economics and its head was appointed assistant professor Zh.Erezhepova. The Department of Economics of Industries in 2003 was divided into two departments, the Department of Economics and Economic Theory. Assistant Professor P. Hozhaniyazov became the head of the department of Economics. In the period 2005-2006 the Department of Economics, Business and Information Systems was headed by Associate Professor O. Nazarbayev. In the period from 2006 to 2008, the department was called the Department of Economics and was headed by Associate Professor A.Inyatov, from 2008 to 2013 the department was headed by Professor K. Ubaidullaev. In 2013-2018, the chair was headed by Ph.D., associate professor Z. Baltasheva, and from September 2018, the chair was headed by Ph.D., associate professor R. Adilchayev.
The department is preparing bachelors in direction 5230100 – Economics (by industry and sector, real sector), 5610300 – Tourism (by activity) and masters in the specialty 5A340102 – Economics (by industry and industry, real sector). There is a doctorate at the department that provides training in the specialty 08.00.13-Management.
Today 16 teachers work at the department at the main rate. The department provides classes in undergraduate courses in 30 subjects, in the specialties of the magistracy 7 subjects, the total number of hours in the department is 16,105 hours. These hours are distributed between the teachers of the department.
There are 1 doctor of sciences professor, 6 candidates of economic sciences, assistant professors, 6 senior lecturers and 6 assistants in the department.
The teaching staff of the department prepared over 50 textbooks, teaching aids and methodological manuals in the Karakalpak language using the Latin script and Cyrillic alphabet. In recent years, the staff of the department has published 6 monographs, more than 300 scientific articles and abstracts.
The department is working on the establishment of international relations and professional development. Teachers of the department on an ongoing basis improve their skills. Associate Professor R. Adilchayev and A. Inyatov completed a refresher course at the Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov, R. Karazhanova participated in a training seminar conducted by the EdNet educational network in Almaty, and completed a refresher course at the INTAN in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), all have certificates and diplomas.
In the period from 2012 to 2017 the department carried out work on the implementation of 5 innovative and 1 initiative topics, under the guidance of Professor K. Ubaidullaev, work was carried out on the implementation of the state grant on the theme “Developing a regional strategy to improve the socio-economic development of the Lower Amudarya economic region of north -West Uzbekistan “. According to the results of completed projects, every year the department participates in republican competitions and fair “Innovative ideas and projects”. Of the electronic textbooks developed over the past three years, the ZiyoNet educational portal contains a manual by Z. Baltasheva and R. Karazhanova “Information Technologies in Economics”.

The staff of the department, doctoral students of the department, undergraduates and students participate in international and national scientific-theoretical and practical conferences with their scientific articles, theses and reports.
Based on the program of holding annual scientific-theoretical and practical conferences in 2015, the department organized and held an international conference “Economic and environmental problems of small business and entrepreneurship development in the Aral Sea zone”, in 2016 a republican scientific-theoretical and practical conference “Economic and social problems demographic development and migration policy in the Republic “, in 2017, the republican scientific-theoretical and practical conference “Problems of optimizing the production structure of economic regions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan” and in 2018 the republican scientific-theoretical and practical conference “Improving well-being and providing employment to the population of the region: current situation, problems and development strategy.”

Adilchayev Rustem Tursynbaevich, Ph.D., associate professor. Born on October 10, 1958 in the Khodjeyli district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1986 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy, in 1991 the Leningrad Political Institute. Specialization labor economics, political science. In 2009 he defended his thesis on “Ways of effective use of the productive potential of agriculture.” Author of more than 100 scientific and methodical works. Of these, 1 monograph, 3 textbooks, 6 teaching aids. He is the author of the translation from Uzbek into Karakalpak of a number of textbooks for college students. Nazarbayev Orynbay, Ph.D., associate professor. Born on July 5, 1956 in the Nukus district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1978 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of National Economy. In 1992 he defended his thesis on “Increasing the efficiency of using the fixed assets of the food industry of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. Author of more than 130 scientific and methodical works. Of these, 2 monographs, 1 textbook, 30 teaching aids. Since 1978, he has been working as an assistant professor at Karakalpak State University. Since 2015, he is a people’s deputy of the Nukus district.
Kayrulla Ubaidullaev, Doctor of Economics, Professor. Born on May 25, 1954 in the Takhtakupyr district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1976 he graduated from Tashkent State University. Specialty mathematician. In 2005 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “Ways to improve efficiency and modeling the use of agricultural production resources in the environmental conditions of the Aral Sea region”. Author of more than 100 scientific and methodical works. Including 4 monographs, 2 brochures, 4 teaching aids. Since 1979 he has been working at Karakalpak State University. 2006 works as an associate professor at the Department of Economics of Karakalpak State University. From 1992 to 1997 he worked as head of the department “Economics and Management”, since 2007 he has been working as a professor at the Department of Economics.
Kudaibergenov Azamat Shamuratovich, Ph.D. in Economics, associate professor. Born December 1, 1979 in the city of Nukus of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 2001 he graduated from Karakalpak State University in the direction of undergraduate information systems in economics and in 2003 a master’s degree in information systems in economics. In 2006 he defended his thesis on the topic “Efficiency of using information and communication technologies at enterprises”. Author of more than 60 scientific and methodical works.
Baltasheva Zukhra Adenbaevna Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Born on September 1, 1971 in the city of Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1995 she graduated from Tashkent State Technical University. Specialty – automated information processing and management system. In 2012 she defended her thesis on “Developing a marketing strategy for the development of the food industry of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. Author of more than 64 scientific and methodical works. Including 4 textbooks, 11 teaching aids. Since 1995 she has been working at Karakalpak State University. In the period from 2013 to 2018 she headed the Department of Economics, and since September 2018 she has been working as an associate professor of this department.
Inyatov Almaz Reyimbaevich, Ph.D., associate professor. Born on January 1, 1966 in the city of Beruniy of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1991, he graduated from the Almaty Institute of National Economy. Specialty Engineer-Economist. In 2004 he defended his thesis on the topic “Optimization and selection of effective options for the construction of houses (on the example of the Chimbay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan).” Author of more than 65 scientific and methodical works. Including 2 textbooks, 5 teaching aids. Since 2006, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Economics at Karakalpak State University.
Erezhepova Zhiengul Tazhetovna Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Born on August 16, 1968 in the Chimbay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1990 she graduated from Nukus State University, with a degree in mathematics. In 1995 she defended her thesis on “Economic and mathematical modeling of inter-farm relations (on the example of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Karakalpakstan)” Author of more than 50 scientific and methodical works. Including 1 monograph, 4 teaching aids.
Alimov Atabek Kerimbergenovich – PhD in economical sciences. Was born in 16th of March in 1987 in Khodjeyli. In 2009 got master’s degree in the specialty of branches of economics at Karakalpak State University. The specialty is the ecocnomics. Beginning from 2010 working at Karakalpak State University. From 2015 to 2017 was senior researcher of KSU and in 2018 the defense on the theme of doctoral dissertation (PhD) “Main directions and prospects of development of ecological tourism in the Republic of Karakalpakstan” and got PhD degree in economical sciences. Since 2017, senior researcher of the practical project PZ-2017-09-2718 – “Scientific basis of developing of the strategy of development of ecological tourism in the Republic of Karakalpakstan”. Published two academic methodological article. There is more than 50 scientific articles. At the moment, in the position of assistant in department of Economics.
Kalmuratov Bakhtiyar doctor of philosophy (PhD) in economic Sciences. Born on January 27, 1977 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1999 he graduated from Karakalpak state University with a degree in economic information systems, in 2001 he graduated from the master’s degree in “automation of economic calculations”. Specialty economist. In 2019 he defended his doctoral (PhD) thesis on Economics on the theme: ” Strategic development of the organizational and economic mechanism of innovative management (On the example of the Republic of Karakalpakstan) He has published more than 30 scientific and methodical works. In 2001 worked as an Intern with prepodvatel in the Department “Economic Cybernetics and computer science”, 2001-2004, studied the postgraduate course in “Management”. In 2004-2013 he worked as an assistant in the Department of “Economics”; in 2013 he worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of “Economics”.
Tleuov NietuIIa Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economic Sciences. Born on June 25, 1970 in Nukus. In 1993, he graduated from Karakalpak State University with a degree in economics and Social Planning, specializing in economics. In 2019, he defended his doctoral (PhD) dissertation in economics on the topic: “Improving the economic structure of the food industry in modernizing the economy.” He has published over 40 scientific and methodological works. In 2007-2015, he served as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Karakalpak State University. Since 1993 he has been working as an assistant, senior lecturer at the Department of Economics. Currently working as a senior lecturer at the Department of Economics.
Madenova Elmira Nzamatdinovna Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economic Sciences. Born on December 18, 1978 in Nukus. In 1999, she graduated from Karakalpak State University with a degree in finance, in 2002 she graduated from the magistracy of this university with a degree in Economics of spheres. Specialty financier- economist. In 2019, she defended her doctoral (PhD) dissertation in economics on the topic: “Long terms of strategy complex development of Republic of Karakalpakstan”. She has published over 30 scientific and methodological works. In 2002-2006 she graduated from graduate school.
From 2016 she serves as a head of the initial organization of the Women`s Council of the Faculty of Economics of Karakalpak State University. Since 2007 she has been working as an assistant in the Department of Economy.
