The Department of Translation theory and practice

The Department of Translation theory and practice makes a great contribution to the development of English philology and the training of qualified English translators in Karakalpakstan. The opening of this department is associated with ensuring the implementation of Decree No.1/8.1 of the new staff and the scientific council of KSU dated to August 30, 2014, confirmed by the ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On August 29, 2014 with the aim of separating the Philological faculty and defining it as the faculty of Foreign Languages, that is the department of the Theory and Practice of Translation was opened in the structure of the faculty of Foreign Languages.

In 2015 the 4th course student of the department of the Theory and Translation practice B.Almanova became the holder of the state scholarship named after Berdakh.

At the same time the department is underlying the “INT-TRANS club” for the students. In each academic year is traditionally held the party named “The World of Translators” by the students. Every year together with the professor-teachers and gifted students of the department is published a collection “Problems of the language and translation”. Educational – methodological complexes of the subjects were worked out by the professor-teachers of the department.

Measures are held on collaboration of the department with the higher institutions. Particularly, experienced exchange is realized with the Uzbek State University of World Languages and departments of Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages. Every year professor-teachers of the above mentioned institutions are invited to conduct lectures to students.

Seytjanov Jetkerbay Elubaevich, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor. He was born on November 21, 1980, in Nukus. In 2006, he graduated from the department of Magistracy of KSU, then 2010 he graduated from the post graduation of the National University of Uzbekistan. The specialty Linguistics (the English language). In 2012 he defended the candidate dissertation on the theme “Comparative analysis of addresses in the English and Uzbek languages”. Over 50 scientific-methodological works were published. In particular, 1 monograph, 2 methodological manuals. Since 2014, he has been working as a head of the department at KSU.

 

 

 

 

 

Mambetova Roza Baltabaevna, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, was born on January 22, 1966, in Nukus. She graduated from the faculty of Russian Philology of KSU in 1984, and in 1997 she graduated from the institute of Linguistics at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Specialty-philologist (the Russian language and literature). In 1998 she defended the candidate dissertation on the theme “Lexicographical aspect of comparative analysis of the semantic competence of verbs in the Karakalpak and Russian languages”.

Over 70 scientific-methodological works were published. Particularly, 1 monograph, 6 textbooks and 10 methodological manuals. Since 2014, she has been working as associate professor of the department of KSU.

 

At the same time the senior lecturer Ya. Karimov, assistants G. Khojametova, M. Jumashev, Sh. Kalimbetov, I. Kurbanbaev, H. Nurullaev, R. Jumamuratova, N. Tajigalieva, S. Arzimbetova and J. Erejepova have been working at the department.
