Currently subjects are taught:

For undergraduate programs: algebra and number theory, analytical geometry, analytical geometry and linear algebra, differential geometry and topology, probability theory and mathematical statistics, functional analysis, additional chapters of functional analysis, mathematical practical work, discrete mathematics, higher mathematics. The subject of higher mathematics is studied in the following areas: chemistry, chemistry, technology, design and technology of light industry products (fabrics), oil-gas processing technology, biology, agrochemistry, ecology and environmental protection, geography, hydrometeorology, geodesy and cadastre, philosophy, journalism , Karakalpak language, foreign language and literature, INN, physical education.

For the specialty of magistracy: algebraic and geometric structures, Borel measures, potentials and foundations of stochastic analysis, the theory of linear operators, abstract algebra.

Every Wednesday, the department holds seminars with the participation of teachers of the department and gifted faculty students.

The director of the Mirzo Ulugbek Mathematical Institute, Academician Shavkat Abdullaevich Ayupov, works on the basis of hourly payment at the department. Every year in the month of May lectures for gifted students.

Candidates of physico-mathematical sciences M. Ibragimov and J. Seypullayev study the geometric properties of Banach SFS spaces and the images of neutral compressing projectors in this space.

Doctor of Physics and Mathematics K. Kudaybergenov and assistants T. Kalandarov and A. Alauadinov conduct research on automorphisms and differentiation of algebras of unbounded operators

According to the results of scientific research the last 5 years, 106 scientific articles and abstracts were published, of which more than 33 abroad. Over 3 teaching aids were published by teachers of the department.

At present, the department has close ties with republican and foreign higher educational institutions, such as the Uzbek National University, Urgench State University, Tashkent State Pedagogical University, Karshi State University, Krasnoyarsk State University.

The lecturers of the department made presentations at the University of Bonn of the German Federal Republic, St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University of the Russian Federation, Krasnoyarsk State University.

The department conducts spiritual and educational work, as the Independence Day, December 8 is the Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan, January 14 is the Day of Defenders, March 8 is International Women’s Day, March 21 is the national holiday of Navruz. Veterans teachers are invited to these evenings.
