Today, the global information space is expanding day by day, and in the era of globalization, global journalism is faced with great responsibilities. This requires the active participation of our journalists in finding the right solutions to global problems on a global scale. Therefore, the most important task today is to ensure that our national journalism takes its appropriate place in the international media space.

In addition, in recent years, our country has created a solid legal framework that ensures freedom of journalism, fully meets democratic requirements and standards. The number of media is growing, and their capabilities are expanding. This event, of course, testifies to the active development of the media market in our country. Therefore, today the issue of training a new generation of future journalists, professionals is of great importance.

These questions were raised at the international scientific-practical online conference “The role of the media in the globalization process”, which was held on May 26 at the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh.

The event was opened by the rector of the university, Professor A. Reymov.

The conference was attended by scientists from the Kazan Federal University of Russia, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kiev State University, Belarusian State University, Kyrgyz National University named after J.Balasagyn, Osh State University, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Qoraqalpoq adabiyoti” (“Karakalpak literature”), senator G.Annaklicheva, as well as media workers and young researchers from all regions of Uzbekistan.

As the speakers noted, today the increase in the authority of our country in the international arena is reflected, mainly, in the media. In view of this, the tasks that journalists perform are so much responsible. First of all, they should never forget that they should always portray the realities of life. This is one of the conditions of journalism that never changes.
