The University hosted the Republican Open Olympiad “Rector’s Cup” among students of grades 10-11 of secondary schools.
On March 24, at Karakalpak State University, the republican stage in Informatics and Physics of the Republican Open Olympiad “Rector’s Cup” among students of grades 10-11 of secondary schools was held.
The event was opened by Rector of Karakalpak State University Akhmed Reymov.
The Olympiad not only creates conditions for the development of talents and abilities of students, their admission to University and education, but also creates a healthy competitive atmosphere in secondary schools, stimulates students’ interest in education and ensures that the requirements of public education standards are met.
The opening of the Olympiad was held in order to implement the tasks approved in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.PF-6108 dated to November 6, 2020 “On measures to improve the educational and scientific spheres in the new era of Uzbekistan’s development”, Resolution No.PK-4884 dated to November 6, 2020 “On additional measures for further development of the education system”, as well as the “Guide” approved by the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 30, 2020 to organize an in-depth study of these subjects by holding the Republican Open Olympiad ”Rector’s Cup” among students of 10-11 grades of general education schools.
The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify and develop the intellectual abilities of students, support gifted students, and create the necessary conditions for the dissemination of scientific knowledge among young people.
The objectives of the Olympiad are to identify capable and creative young people, increase motivation for in-depth study of Mathematics, Informatics and Physics, as well as support the development of research skills of today’s schoolchildren.
The competition for the “Rector’s Cup” is a real test for secondary school students who will enter universities tomorrow. The Olympiad, which began early in the morning, ended in the afternoon and the winners were announced. Alym Duysenbayev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University spoke at the awards ceremony, who expressed his opinion about good initiatives in the country for in-depth study of Physics and Informatics.
Professor Bakhtiyar Abdurazakovich Abdikamalov expressed his high believe in advanced youth and said: “If these young people become students of our University tomorrow, I will always be ready to work with them.” The participants of the competition, worthy of this conviction, were fairly evaluated, and the winners were awarded valuable prizes of the Open Olympiad “Rector’s Cup”.
The role of the teacher in the success of students is great, so their teachers were not left unattended.
Today’s award is not only a great joy for the winners, but also a sure step towards mastering science.
