Yesterday, on July 26, Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education for Science and Innovation Rakhimjon Khakimov visited Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh.

   The Deputy Minister first got acquainted with the planned scientific laboratories on the first floor of the main building of the university, as well as tablets with information about ongoing and planned practical and innovative projects.

   Rector of Karakalpak State University, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences Akhmed Reymov provided information on the research laboratory “Bioecological Research”, the cost of which in the new academic year will cost more than 2.5 billion sum and on the cluster of the research laboratory “Chemical Technology”, which is planned to be created in 2022, will spend more than 10 billion sum on research in the field of chemistry, chemical technology, construction and industrial technologies.

   Deputy Minister Rakhimjon Khakimov visited the Faculty of Biology and got acquainted with the main equipment of the research laboratory “Bioecological Research” and the data of 3 regional projects to be implemented on the basis of this laboratory.

   The University’s “Bioecological Research” Laboratory will start its work in the new academic year.

   Deputy Minister Rakhimjon Khakimov gave valuable advice on the issues of self-financing of the research laboratory in the future, ensuring the close connection of laboratory work with the economy, the involvement of undergraduate students in the work of the research laboratory and professional development of specialists abroad.

   Information was provided on 3 regional projects to be implemented on the basis of the laboratory:

1. “Study and development of the potential of ecological tourism in the Sudochje lake system.” Project amount: 200 mln. Project leader: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Ametov Yakub Idrisovich.
2. “Medicinal in the lands of the forest fund of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, creation of agrotechnology and organization of plantations for growing chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) and peppermint (Mentha piperita L.)”. Project amount: 260 mln. Project leader: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Saytova Azima Kaljanovna.
3. “Study of the biology of medicinal plants Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus L.), pink carob (Catharanthus rosea L.), medicinal clove (Calendula officinalis L.) and the establishment of plantations in the climatic conditions of Karakalpakstan”. Project leader: Aygul Sarsenbaevna Jangabaeva, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agricultural Sciences.

   While getting acquainted with the scientific and innovative work of Karakalpak State University, the Deputy Minister wished success to the scientific work aimed at improving the socio-economic life of the people of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
