Chair of Electric Power Engineering

History of the Chair of Electric Power Engineering

In order to train personnel in the electric power industry for the Republic of Karakalpakstan at the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, in 1999-2000 students were admitted to the specialty “electric power engineering”. At this time, this specialty was in the Department of Semiconductor Physics under the direction of D.Sc., Professor. Ismayilova K.A.

The specialty was opened in 2000 on June 28 in the Engineering and Construction Department, at the Department of Engineering Physics on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of KSU in order to provide training in general engineering subjects. Head of the department was appointed DSc. Associate Professor Arzuov M.I.

In 2002, in connection with the transition to another work of M.I. Arzuova, head of the department was appointed Ph.D., associate professor R.Bekimbetov. Since January 2004 the department was headed by Ph.D. associate professor Nasyrov U. In 2005, in connection with the expansion of the faculty of the university, the engineering and construction faculty was attached to the department of semiconductors. The head of the department was Professor DSc. Ismailov K.A.

In 2011, on September 13, on the basis of the decision of the academic council of the KSU, the chair was headed by the associated professor D.Sc. Kamalov A.B. In connection with the transition to another job, Kamalov A.B, from August 28, 2013 to July 15, 2015, the head of the department was Ph.D., associate professor Tanirbergenov M.B.

Since August 30, 2015 the department was headed by Ph.D., associate professor Sharibayev M.B. In connection with the transition to another job M. Sharibayev from February 2018 to August 27, 2018 led the department of Erezhepov MT.

Since August 27, 2018 the department is headed by Ph.D. in engineering sciences (PhD) associate professor Reimov K.М.

At the present time, according to the specialties 5310200 – power engineering, 5310200 – electric power engineering, 5310700 – electrical engineering, electro mechanics and electro technologies and 5310900 – metrology standardization and management of product quality, contracts have been signed with major leading industrial enterprises of the Republic.

Based on these contracts, laboratory work and field practice are conducted. And also, the educational process is conducted in close relationship with the Tashkent State Technical University.

Teaching staff of the department are reports on their topics held annually on the scale of the Republic. Recent years in connection with the development of information technology, the professor – teachers of the department conduct their lecture courses using computers in electronic versions. Professor – teachers publish articles in the Republican and foreign journals; achieve success in compiling textbooks and teaching aids.
