In the department of geography from the 2006-2007 academic year opened an educational direction “Land management and land cadastre.” From the 2011-2012 academic year, it was renamed the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. In 2019, due to the transformation of the Department of Geography into the Faculty of Geography and Natural Resources, the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources was established. Currently, the department has 11 professors and teachers, including: 3 candidates of sciences, 1 doctor of philosophy (PhD), 7 assistant teachers. The department is currently headed by Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor S. J. Abdireymov. From the 2017-2018 academic years, the department opened a part-time department in the field of education “Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre”. Starting from the 2020-2021 academic year, the second specialty in the field of education “Development and operation of oil and gas fields” was opened. At the department there is a scientific laboratory “Geoinformatics”, headed by Associate Professor P. R. Reymov. In this scientific laboratory, along with the scientific activities of professors and teachers of the department, several national and international projects are being implemented. From 2020-2021 academic year, the department opened master’s specialties in “Geodesy and Geoinformatics” and “Development and exploitation of oil and gas fields.” To date, professors and teachers of the department in the last 3 years have published more than 10 textbooks and manuals, including more than 20 articles in scientific journals and more than 50 theses in international and national conference proceedings. Professors and students of the department have exchanged experience and improved their skills in Austria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Great Britain, the People’s Republic of China and a number of other countries.

Abdireymov Salawat Jamalovich, candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor. He was born on August 15, 1967 in Chimbay district. In 1984 he entered Nukus State University and in 1992 graduated from the Moscow Temiryazev Agricultural Academy. In 2006 he defended his dissertation on “Geoecological aspects of the agro-landscape of the delta of the Amudarya (in the prime of the Chimbaysk oasis).” Published more than 100 articles and theses, 1 monograph, 1 textbook, 3 textbooks, 5 manuals. He has been working at the university since 1993. Since 2019, he has been working as the head of the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources

Reymov Polat Rasbergenovich, candidate of geographical sciences, docent. He was born on January 10, 1962 in the city of Nukus. In 1983 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Geodetic Engineers, Aerial Photography and Cartography. In 1992 he defended his dissertation on “Dynamic mapping of hydrogen ecosystem delta Amudarya on the basis of cosmic information.” He has published more than 200 scientific articles and theses, 2 monographs, more than 10 textbooks and teaching aids. Since 2020, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources.

Qurbanbayev Rashid Erejepovich, Candidate of Technical Sciences. Born in 1967 in Nukus. In 1991 he graduated from Tashkent Technical University. Specialty Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology. In 2005 he defended his dissertation on “Formation of KDV in the conditions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the forecast for the future.” Author of 2 textbooks, 5 scientific articles. Since 2020 he has been working at the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources.

Xudaybergenov Yaxshimurad Gulimbaevich, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geography. He was born on January 26, 1982 in Beruni district. He graduated from Karakalpak State University in 2005. In 2021 he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geography on the topic: Published more than 70 scientific articles and theses, 4 textbooks. Since 2019, he has been working as an assistant at the Department of Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources.
