History of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Metrology

In 2020, as part of the Department of Power Engineering of the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh two departments were created: the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Metrology. On October 2, 2020, by the decision of the Council of the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, 13 professors and teachers of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering were transferred to the department, including 1 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), 2 senior teachers, 6 teaching assistants, 4 teaching interns and acting head Abubakirov Azizjan Bazarbayevich, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), was appointed as the department. By the decision of the Council of the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh on November 9, 2020, the head of the department is Abubakirov Azizjan Bazarbaevich.

Currently, the department employs 16 professors and teachers, including 1 doctor of technical sciences (A.Abubakirov), 2 senior teachers (K.Najmatdinov, A.Esenbekov), 6 assistant teacher (M.Bekimbetov, U.Utegenov. R.Tanatarov, Z.Kurbanbaeva, R.Seytimbetov, B.Ametova) and 7 trainee teachers (B.Jumamuratov, N.Djumaniyazova, R.Tanirbergenov, I.Gayipov, T.Kurbaniyazov, G.Sattarbergenova, R.Kenesbaev).

Professors-teachers of the department, taking into account new pedagogical technologies, annually revise and update the texts of lectures, materials of practical and laboratory work. The texts of electronic reports on all disciplines of the department were compiled and transferred to the information resource center of the university. Lessons based on modern pedagogical technologies are conducted using laboratory equipment, electronic boards and presentations. The subject “New technologies of production and sales” is taught in the magistracy.

Professors-lecturers constantly conduct research work with gifted students. Such students annually participate in republican Olympiads and various competitions and achieve good results. In particular, the 3rd year student of metrology, standardization and product quality management A. Alakuliyeva took part in the Republican Olympiad and was awarded a 1st degree diploma. Sh.Kuatova, 3rd year student of the specialty metrology, standardization and production quality management, took 1st place in the nomination “The youngest scientist in 2021”.

Considering the great importance of textbooks written in the native language of students in the education of modern specialists, experienced and leading professors and teachers of the department have created a large number of textbooks, teaching aids, scientific and methodological literature.

Over the years of independence, work has been well organized to improve the quality of educational work, to train students in accordance with modern requirements. According to previously agreed plans, extensive campaigning work of students is carried out on a regular basis on the speeches and reports of the President, decrees and resolutions, new laws. A lot of work is being done to awaken and instill in students feelings and love for the Motherland and high humanity.

The department conducts monthly seminars on various topics with the participation of teachers and gifted students.

In order to improve the quality of educational work, the effectiveness of research work and the systematic training of high-level specialists, teachers, the department maintains contacts with well-known universities and research institutes of the republic and abroad. The Moscow Polytechnic Institute, the Tashkent branch of the YOJU Technical Institute, the Tashkent State Technical University, the Tashkent University of Information Technologies have signed agreements and are closely cooperating with the relevant departments.

In particular, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Tashkent State Technical University, Doctor of Technical Sciences. M. Ibodullaev, Head of the Department of Metrology, Standardization and Certification, Doctor of Technical Sciences PM Matyakubova, Associate Professor of the Department of Metrology, Standardization and Certification, Ph.D. MM Masharipov and Head of the Department of Power Supply Systems of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences. I.Kh.Siddikov works part-time.

More than 30 scientific articles and abstracts based on the results of scientific research, including more than 10 published in foreign journals. The teachers of the department published 2 textbooks, which are now widely used by students.

The department carries out a lot of spiritual and educational work. In particular, Independence Day, December 8 – Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan, January 14 – Armed Forces Day, March 8 – Women’s Day, the national holiday of our people – Navruz. Senior professors and teachers of our department are invited to these evenings.

Professors-teachers with academic degrees at the department

Abubakirov Azizjan Bazarbayevich, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Was born on June 13, 1990 in the city of Khojeli. In 2013 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers with a degree in power supply. From 2017 to 2020, he conducted research at the Tashkent State Technical University and the Karakalpak State University. In 2020 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Models and principles of construction of control sensors for multiphase currents of reactive power of a power supply system with renewable energy sources”.

Since 2020 he has been working as the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Metrology. He has published over 40 scientific papers. Of these, 1 textbook, 6 teaching aids, more than 25 scientific articles have been published in international and national journals.
