PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY AND HYDROMETEOROLOGY DEPARTMENT

Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology Department was established on the basis of one of the first oldest departments of the university, the first of which was created in 1948 as the Department of Geography and Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Science and Geography of the Karakalpak State Pedagogical Institute.

At that time, it was headed by Doctor of Chemical Sciences F.Z. Fisher. From 1954 to 1963, Geography Department was headed by Assoc. Prof., N.A.Bem, from 1963 to 1976 and from 1985 to 1992 by Honored Teacher of Uzbekistan, Prof. J.Matmuratov, from 1976 to 1981 by Assoc. Prof., A.B.Bekbulatov, from 1981 to 1985 by Assoc. Prof., T.Kh. Allabergenov.

From 1992-1993 academic year, the Department of Geography was divided into two departments: Physical Geography Department and Economic Geography Department.In 1992-1996, Physical Geography Departmentheaded by associate professor AllabergenovT.Kh., and since 1996 Assoc. Prof., Reimov P.R.

In the 1997-1998 academic year, the departments of Physical and Economic Geography were merged into one department of Geography.From 1997 to 2009, it was headed by Assoc. Prof., P.R. Reimov, from 2009 to 2015 headed by Assoc. Prof., G.A. Khodzhaeva, and from 2015 to 2019 headed by Assoc. Prof.,Embergenov N.J.

In connection with the establishment of the Faculty of Geography and Natural Resources at the university in 2019, the department was divided into two departments – “Geography and Hydrometeorology” and “Geodesy, Cartography and Natural Resources”.

From the 2019-2020 academic year Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology Department was headed by Assoc. Prof., K.J. Allanazarov.

From the 2020-2021 academic year, the department was divided into two departments “Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology” and “Economic and Social Geography”.

Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology Department has been headed by Assoc. Prof., K.J. Allanazarov.

At present, the department trains specialists in 2 educational areas of bachelor’s degree (geography and hydrometeorology) and 2 master’s degrees: geography (by subjects of study), hydrometeorology (by type of activity).There are 9 main full-time professors and teachers at the department: 2 of them are Doctors of Sciences, 2 Candidates of Sciences, 5 assistant teachers and trainee teachers.

Professors and teachers of the Department of Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology take an active part in educational, educational-methodological and research work. Over the past 3 years, professors and teachers of the department have published about 20 scientific monographs, textbooks and teaching aids.

The teaching staff of the department worked and completed 2 scientific projects within the framework of the state budget in 2019-2021.In addition, within the framework of the ERASMUS MUNDUS gSmart project and Training of Individuals through Mobility from Uzbek Republic to EU, professors and students of the department exchanged experiences and improved their knowledge in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and a number of other countries.

At the Republican Subject Olympiad among students in the 2009-2010 academic year, KhairullaevBirodar took second place, RuslanKushaev took first place in the 2012-2013 academic year, AbdullaevTazabek took second place in hydrometeorology, in the 2016-2017 academic year and the 2017-2018 academic year, and in the 2019 academic year SalauatKalabaev took 3rd place.

Students of our department TurdibekovaZamira, AkhmedovaZulkhumar and KalabaevSalauat became scholars of the Berdakh scholarship approved at the university.

In 2017, KalabaevSalauat took third place in the nomination “Best article” at the competition “The best idea on global climate change – 2016-2017” held in Tashkent,3rd course student of the Department of Hydrometeorology RakhimbaevAtabek took 3rd place in the “Best Blogger” nomination at the republican stage of the “Student of the Year 2019-2020” competition, 1st place in the “Best Analytical Article” nomination of the “Best Active Blogger” magazine; 3rd course Hydrometeorology student EshbaevNavruz took part in the university stage of the competition “Student of the Year – 2019” and took 2nd place in the nomination “The most educated student of the year”.In 2019-2020 academic year, a student of Hydrometeorology AtabekRakhimbayev became the winner of the Mart Uglan competition.

In 2021, 3 students of the department were awarded the badge of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan – they are TajimuratovNurbek, 4th course student of Hydrometeorology, AbdikarimovSalamat, 2nd course student of Hydrometeorology, DauletmuratovaRaisa, 2nd course student of Geography.

Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor, Allanazarov Keunimjay Jannazarovich,

Was born on September 1, 1967 in the Kegeyli district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 1993 he graduated from the Karakalpak State University. Specialty geographer, teacher of geography.In 2002 he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on the theme: “Assessment of natural conditions and resources of the non-irrigated part of the Amudarya delta for the development of agricultural sectors.”Author of about 100 scientific and methodological works. Of these, 2 monographs, 2 textbooks, 6 teaching aids were published by the publishing house. In 1993-2003 he worked at the department as an Assistant Teacher and Associate Professor. From 2003 to 2019 he worked as the head, vice-rector of the Scientific Department of the University, director of the library.Since October 2019, he has been working as an Associate Professor of the department, and since the same year he has been the head of the department.In the 2019-2020 academic year, he heads the Department of Geography and Hydrometeorology, and in the 2020-2021 academic year, he is the head of the newly created Department of Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology

 

 

 

Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, BallievaRuza.

Was born on March 19, 1959 in the Kegeylidistrict of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.In 1982 she graduated from the Faculty of Geography of the Tashkent State University. In 1994 she defended her Ph.D. thesis on theme: “Traditional nature management in connection with the exhalation of the ecological crisis in the Aral Sea region”, and in 2003, defended her doctoral dissertation (DSc) on theme “Traditional nature management and Karakalpak ethnos”. She is the author of more than 150 scientific and methodological works, of which 2 monographs, 1 brochure, 4 textbooks, 9 teaching aids were published by the publishing house.She has been working at the department since 1982, since 1998 as an Associate Professor, and since 2018 as a Professor. Since 2020 she has been working as a professor at the Department of Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology.

 

 

 

Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor, Khojamuratova Roza Tajimuratovna.

Was born on November 3, 1971 in the city of Zarafshan.In 1993 he graduated from Karakalpak State University with a degree in chemistry. In 2009 she defended her PhD dissertation on theme: “Hydrological role of collector and drainage waters in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in conditions of water resources deficit”, in 2020 she defended her doctoral dissertation (DSc) on theme: “Complex assessment of melioration on the hydroecological state of water resources of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and ways to reduce it”.

More than 100 scientific works have been published. Among them: 2 monographs, 1 textbook, 1 brochure. She is the head of 2 applied scientific projects. She has been working at the Department of Geography and Hydrometeorology since 2021.

 

 

 

Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor, Sultashova Oralkhan Genjebaevna.

She was born on September 1, 1977 in the Kanlykuldistrict of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In 2001 she graduated from the Karakalpak State University.In 2011 she defended her Ph.D. thesis on theme: “Thermal regime of soils in Uzbekistan”.She is the author of over 80 scientific and methodological works. Of these, 1 monograph, 1 textbook, 7 teaching aids were published by the publishing house.In 2015-2020 she worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography.Since 2020 she has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Physical Geography and Hydrometeorology. In 2013 she became the winner of the republican competition “Stars of Science”. Based on the results of scientific research, she took part in seminars and conferences in European countries such as Hungary, Russia.
