As it’s known, in the city of Nukus on March 1-4 this year, the final stage of the “Universiade – 2020” “small Olympiad” was held among athletes of higher educational institutions. The winners of the previous stages from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Namangan, Jizzak regions took part in them. In competitions that lasted several days, participants demonstrated a level of good preparation.

For reference, the national team of the Republic of Karakalpakstan consists of students from the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute. Athletes for the competition were prepared by the honored trainer of Karakalpakstan, a veteran of sports of Uzbekistan, master of sports Azat Kazakov.

The national team of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, which took 1st place in volleyball at the Universiade 2020, received a ticket to the World Games of the Universiade, which will be held in 2021.
