On February 2, 2024, a scientific seminar dedicated to “World Wetlands Day – 2 February” was held at the Faculty of Biology of Karakalpak State University. The scientific seminar was attended by members of the party organization of the Republic of Karakalpakstan of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, specialists from the Saigachiy complex landscape reserve, the Southern Ustyurt National Natural Park and the Barsakelmes State Reserve, the teaching staff of the Faculty of Biology, doctoral students, undergraduates, students and representatives of the mass media.

At the scientific seminar, reports were made on the importance of wetlands for maintaining the sustainability of the biosphere and human life. Information was also presented about wetlands on the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and biodiversity, their importance in the life of our people. The scientific seminar continued in the form of questions and answers; participants received answers to their questions.
